A Day To Relax - May 28, 2011
Interesting information about Needles, CA
Population - 5700
Elevation - 495 ft. A big difference from the 6800 ft elevation at the Grand Canyon. No wonder it is 100 degrees here.
One could say that it was a "nothing sort of a day." After all of the moving around we have done in the past 3 weeks, one could say the we deserved today. Tom got up at his usual pre-6am time and I was a happy stay-a-bed until 7:30am. Why should I get up? We weren't going anywhere. :o)
After breakfast we went out to get some things. My meds needed to be picked up. (They got the problem straightened out from last night.) We needed to stop at the store for a new sewer hose and connector. (They were closed today, too, even though the sign said that they would be open.) We had another go at finding the church we will go to tomorrow. (It was easier in the daylight!) We stopped at the food store. (Our list kept getting longer.) We stopped for gas. (We were going to need it sometime so we stopped since the price was right - $3.69)
After a late lunch we "crashed." Then Tom went shopping again hopefully to find a store that was open and I tried to get something accomplished on the netbook. Didn't happen. We decided to have dinner and head for the pool.
We were alone in the pool but maybe the other people knew something we didn't. The water hadn't been warmed by the sun yet so it was a little cool to the body. Refreshing for a rather hot day. And the breeze was blowing a mighty tune through the palm trees. Soon we figured we had had enough so we headed for the showers. Do it now and you won't have to do it later.
Tom researched some geocaches for tomorrow and also found a possibility for breakfast after church. I worked on the blog. It's almost time for bed. What a wonderful day to allow our spirits time to catch up to our bodies!
